A guide to grandparenting with purpose and fun–in the age of smartphones and social media.
Grandparenting may be different today, but it still can be meaningful and fun for both the kids and the adults.
Today’s grandparent needs to understand technology–how it mesmerizes grandchildren but also enhances the opportunities to connect and share life experiences.
And while many of the roles grandparents play in the lives of grandchildren have changed, their most important role of influencing with wisdom, faith, and fun remains the same.
The author addresses topics relevant to all grandparents and also looks at the challenges of grandchildren living in single parent or blended families.
Also included are stories from the author’s journey with her own grandchildren–including Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson.
“The influence of grandparents in the lives of their ‘grands’ is largely a matter of what they make of the opportunity to be steady sources of godly wisdom and counsel. Somewhat ironically, the more seriously they take the responsibility, the more fun they will have! This message is at the heart of Chrys Howard’s inspiring book.”
—John Rosemond, author of Parenting by The Book and other parenting bestsellers
“I’ve personally benefited from watching Chrys Howard juggle a crazy schedule and also grandmother her large family with grace and wisdom. Now you can score those same grandparenting ‘hacks’ in Rockstar Grandparent! Her valuable insight on handing down a legacy of faith leaves me hoping this book finds its way into the hands of grandparents far and wide.”
—Shellie Rushing Tomlinson, author of Devotions for the Hungry Heart
“I’ve read most every book on the topic of grandparenting, and Rockstar Grandparent stands out from the crowd. I felt as though I was in an intimate conversation with a very wise, experienced, and special friend. Chrys Howard’s insights, creativity, humor, humility, powers of observation, and storytelling will delight all readers. As she delivers an abundance of wisdom and inspiration on a myriad of challenging family topics, she lavishes the reader with her deep abiding love of family and God.”
—Christine Crosby, editorial director for Grand magazine
